We have used many power meters over the years and finally found the ultimate power meter - Favero Assioma DUO.
We needed a power meter that provided best in class accuracy, and the following key features...
- Easily change between bikes - many of our athletes have different bikes for different disciplines.
- No changing of batteries - eliminates issues with drop outs and also improves reliability by eliminating a liquid ingress point.
- Rechargable and Long battery life - consistency of power data between training indoors and outdoors is so important when assessing performance.
The unique, and super easy recharging of these power meters means that using this power meter indoors is so much easier and more convenient than a conventional power meter with replacable batteries. So even if you don't have an accurate turbo trainer, you can get consistent power readings by using the Assioma indoor and outdoor. We found battery life to be staggeringly good, and really easy to monitor using the app.
On a similar note, we have independently tested the Assiomas against the defacto standard 'Wahoo Kickr' turbo trainer and found the readings to track consistently over the full power range. Simple easy calibration - with the Assiomas, it is only necessary to calibrate once after changing bikes - but through experience we found that this one off calibration isn't really neccessay to achieve an accurate reading.
Dual sided - the extra information we receive from dual sided readings is crucial and means we can iron out any underlying issues with our athletes. Any imbalance in left to right leg power can easily be idenfied and addressed. It is not uncommon to find imbalances of 4% and above - which means the Duo setup gives a far more accurate power reading and will be consistent with your Turbo trainer.

Assioma DUO-Shi is compatible with the following Shimano® pedal bodies: PD-R8000, PD-R7000, PD-6800, PD-R550 and PD-R540.
Increased Q-factor?
The Q-factor of Assioma Look® version is of +54mm, whereas that of Assioma DUO-Shi measures +64mm with the PD-R7000/R550/R540 pedal bodies and +65mm with the PD-R8000/6800.
Despite an initial concern related to the increase of the q-factor, we decided to proceed with the project considering that body size (height, pelvis width, etc.) is a subjective factor contributing to determining which is the best q-factor for each one of us.
A final, positive feedback from our beta testers has eventually validated the product.
Easy to install
Install and move your Assioma from one bike to another just like your normal pedals. You can do it easily and without extra tools or the need for a mechanic.
IAV Cycling Dynamics
Our power meter pedals provide advanced metrics called IAV Cycling Dynamics: IAV Power Phase and IAV Rider Position. These metrics, combined with the classic power data, permit you to analyze your pedaling technique in detail and learn about how your position on the bike influences your performance.
IAV Power and gyroscope
Unlike others, when calculating power Assioma takes into account our inevitably irregular pedaling (e.g. uphill, sprints) or the use of oval chainrings. This is because Assioma can detect the actual instantaneous angular velocity during the whole pedal stroke, thus providing ±1% accuracy in any conditions.
Bluetooth and ANT+
Assioma features both Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity for a seamless compatibility with bike computers and smartphones (both Android and iOS).
Real dual-sided power data
The dual-sided power meter Assioma DUO-Shi measures power individually on both legs; this makes possible to observe with accuracy not only Total Power, but also L/R Balance.
Accuracy and consistency
Assioma guarantees accurate and consistent data in all conditions on the road, and at any temperature ranging from -10°C and 60°C, thanks also to the ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation).
Waterproof, resistant and light
The power sensors are protected by a bi-component resin block, extremely resistant to shocks and completely waterproof.
Rechargeable and green
